PM Considers Vaccines a Key Economic Driver

TBONG KHMUM: Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the Covid-19 vaccine is economic because the vaccination process has allowed for the reopening of the Cambodian economy.

He made this statement while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital in Tbong Khmum on Monday morning.

"Last night there were business planes arriving in Sihanoukville, although tourism is not yet widespread, the investment process is easy because Cambodia does not require quarantine, so they want to do business in Cambodia," the Prime Minister added.

He also said that without the vaccine, the New Year celebration this year would not have been possible, but because Cambodia has implemented a widespread vaccination campaign, celebrating the New Year will be possible.
